OMG, long time, no see!

My gosh, where have I been all this time?
Well, what a good question.  I've started at my new job which is going pretty good. Lots to learn but I think I'm doing well. I'm working at a marketing agency, so it's quite different to my previous career in investment banking. But I am enjoying the challenge, and as each day goes by, I feel less and less like the new girl in school.

As per my previous post, I've been to see Where The Wild Things Are. What a treat of a movie! The characters have true-to-life human characteristics and problems, which means they're not at all sugary sweet like you may expect for a "kids" movie. In fact, I think this one's more for the grown ups. Please go and see it if you can. I give it 5 heartfelt stars!

Did you have snow over Christmas? We had it by the bucketload. I had to ditch my car halfway up an icy hill, dig it out again and then declare myself snowed-in! I've never known the like! It was beautiful though and I've taken so many photographs to put into my Christmas 2009 scrapbook. The snow even lasted through to Christmas day, which made for my first white Christmas in what must be over 20 years.

My back garden looked pretty instead of messy....

We trudged through streets of white to go and retrieve my car from the icy hill....

But the streets were all so breath-takingly beautiful that the inconvenience seemed worthwhile...

How was your Christmas? Did you party hard, or keep it low-key? I was entertaining guests over the festive period and boy am I exhausted! I've done a whole lotta cooking and eaten a whole lot more. We had goose on Christmas day which was lovely, but I would've been equally as happy with a (happy) chicken. Today I'm cooking the gammon that I forgot to cook for Boxing Day. In fact, I forgot to cook / use so much food on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, that I think we'll be eating it throughout the week to come!  (Did someone mention the word "diet"?)  Next year I might consider going abroad for Christmas....now there's an idea to kickstart some daydreaming!

Anyway, I hope you had a great Christmas and shared some precious time with your friends and family.

Peace xoxo
